Making time for exercise

It has been a busy summer! Family, company, planning the next school year....and it has been getting harder and harder to find time to jog and go to exercise class. I have done pretty good though, still averaged about 3 times a week jogging &/or class....but I can see the difference and it really isn't enough. I loose everything I have gained so quickly! I know I had lost inches...I could tell by the way my clothes were fitting...and I was jogging 30 minutes consistently....now the inches have increased and the time has decreased...but I have still tried to remain as consistent as possible...at 3 x wk. But, I realize I need to do more...I really need to jog 4 times and week and go to class 2 a week...that is when I notice a positive difference. Tomorrow I will try to go for a jog at 6 am...never tried this before...so we will see, I am so NOT A MORNING PERSON!

Just got back from my jog. Oh my goodness...it is so hot! I even started going later at 8pm...and you should see me when I get done....I am soaked! Not sure what is wrong...I only did 23 minutes of jogging my total time was 37 minutes. I think I need to drink more water....this moringing at 5 I blacked out...not sure if it is related...but a little scary. I amy need to start trying to jog early in the am,maybe that will be better.

Last night

Last night my daughter went with me again...but she rode her bike! That worked out much better! She played at the park some while I jogged around the park....but I did not do well, it was the first time since I had made 30 minutes that I couldn't do it...I felt sick...so stopped. I only ran 16 minutes, which is probably a mile...it was late in the evening again...but still seemed so hot...plus we had been at the beach all day...so I was probably just drained! Tonight is aerobics class...so I won't be jogging...seems like I need the break anyway.

But...I am so happy... since I have really gotten serious and jogged for 30 minutes and beeen doing that or class everyday...my body is changing...I can just feel the difference! And...I have lost 2 pounds!

I feel so motivated to finally see some results...in my time and in my body...IT'S ABOUT TIME!!! HAHA!

I am really thinking about joing the gym...if they still offer the 2 weeks free trial and 12 visit punch card...that will get my through the summer. Then, in the fall I can just do the class and jog....not sure what to do yet.

Father's Day Jog

Today is Father's Day and so my husband and daughter went on my jog with me...and as much as I love them and love spending time with them...it was horrible! haha :)
No really, it was just akward....I jog very slowly and it was way too slow for my husband...so then he would walk, then I would get way ahead...so he'd run...and when he caught up to me, he'd try to stay with me...but again, I go too slow for him, and he'd leave me..and then he would walk again..and on, and on.....My daughter just ended up playing at the park! :)

I am glad that they went...they could really see first hand what I do...and that it is a workout for me...but now I know that this really is something I have to do alone...just for me...but, one good thing did come out of tonight...I cut 1 minute and 5 seconds off of my time! I walked for 5 jogged for 30 and walked for 2 min and 54 seconds. A total time of 37 minutes and 54 seconds.

Tonight I did my usual jog down to the park. I jogged 2 laps around the park this time...I need to clock it and see what the mileage is. I warmed up with a 5 minute walk, jogged for 30 and then walked for 4. Total time 39 minutes.

Tonight's Jog

I really didn't know if I could do my full jog tonight...my right hip and thigh muscles seemed to be rebelling from class yesterday! :) But, to my surprise...I did it~and 30 minutes again! And man was it hot! I went at 7pm and the humidity must have still been at like 100%!

I took it slow...walked for 10 minutes to get good and warmed up and then jogged for 30 minutes and then walked for 2 minutes...total time 42 minutes. My total walk/jog is probably close to 3 miles...but the jog part of 30 minutes is only about 2 miles...not a great time...that would be about a 15 minute mile....something to work on later...but for now, just want to get real consistent at 30 and then increase the time. I'm still trying to build stamina and endurance...then I will work on the speed, one day! :)

Aerobics Class

I went back to the aerobics class last night. Wow...I can really tell that I a getting closer to 40! I am sore in places I was never sore before...my hips!!! It is kind of hilarous...at least I am sure it looks that way when I am down on my mat and trying to do a stretch/yoga pose and I get this horrible cramp in my HIP! I have to laugh!

But I am sore again...I am suprised that it is in my legs since that is the one body part I have been using in my jogs! haha

I really think we do more of pilates in class...it is tough!

Still not sure about the gym...I really think I am getting what I need now between the class and jogging. I would join if it wasn't a year contract( I really love the eliptical)...not sure if I could keep up the jogging, aerobics class and gym once school starts in the fall, I know I couldn't.
